The first San Lorenzo Valley Tourism, Branding and Marketing meeting was held at the historic Felton Covered Bridge Park. The discussion focused on developing a location and signage system, participation with the Santa Cruz County Conference and Visitors Council, mass transportation, and a marketing brochure that would also feature a mobile application.
In addition, there was discussion regarding outreach to visitors staying at local campgrounds, the Caltrans tourist-oriented directional signage program, entry signs, signage consistency between the towns (but also allowing each town to have their own identity), an archway, trolley, Metro service, electric car charging outlets, a referral network, etc. Everyone was issued homework at the meeting to provide a list of where they take family and friends who are visiting the Valley — and not just the obvious places.
